Taqtaq oil field in the Kurdistan Region[/rtl]

    [rtl]Rudaw Digital[/rtl]

[rtl]The draft federal oil and gas law has reached the stage of preparation, after intensive discussions between Erbil and Baghdad.[/rtl]

[rtl]A joint committee was formed between the Kurdistan Region and the federal governments in Baghdad, in order to technically define and write the concepts. That is, determining how to manage the oil fields of the Kurdistan Region, conducting contracts, and exporting oil from the Kurdistan Region abroad.[/rtl]

[rtl]In this context, the spokesman for the Iraqi government, Basem Al-Awadi, told Rudaw Media Network, "The talks are moving in a very good direction between the two parties. This is based on the recommendations and agreements reached by the State Administration Coalition with the participation of all parties. The government's program also provides for the Kurdistan Region's rapprochement towards Baghdad and the rapprochement of Baghdad towards the Kurdistan Region to resolve outstanding issues between the two sides.[/rtl]

[rtl]Al-Awadi stressed that "the oil and gas law is very important, as it reassures the Iraqi government as well as reassures the region."[/rtl]

[rtl]There are two proposals, the first is the establishment of a joint oil company between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi government to be based in the Kurdistan Region and under the supervision of the Iraqi government to determine the policy of selling oil. The second is the expansion of the North Oil Company. Where the first proposal belongs to the Kurdistan Regional Government and the second proposal to the Iraqi government, but the matter has not been decided yet.[/rtl]

[rtl]A member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Sabah Sobhi, told Rudaw, "There are some parties that obstruct the Kurdistan Region's sale of oil and gas independently, and at the same time they want to control the Kurdistan Region's economy. The Kurdistan Regional Government refuses that," adding, "We have some points." Public and joint, and fortunately, we have reached a conclusion about the need to include the federal mentality in the oil and gas law.[/rtl]

[rtl]According to the government program of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, a joint legal, financial, and oil committee will be established between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, which will be charged with several tasks, including reviewing the oil and gas sector of the Kurdistan Region, and the relations between the Iraqi Federal Ministry of Oil and the Kurdistan Region to clean up the previous stage in accordance with the constitution.[/rtl]
