Head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, stressed, on Wednesday, the importance of working on the files of recovering funds and convicts, and intensifying efforts in the field of addressing money inflation and illegal gain.
And the Integrity Commission stated in a statement that Judge Hanoun "received the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Ghulam Muhammad Ishaq Zai, the Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Iraq, Ali Al-Barir, and the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program, Ghamar Hani Dib."
Hanoun noted, "the presence of international organizations in Iraq and their endeavor to provide expertise and experience," explaining that "the Commission's investigators need moral support, acquire skills, increase experience in the field of preventing and combating corruption, and benefit from international experiences in that, and also need technical support by providing modern tools and devices that support them in investigation and investigation.
Hanoun stressed, "The importance of working on the files of recovering funds and convicts, and intensifying efforts in the field of addressing inflated funds and illicit gain," pointing out that "the injunctive aspect of the authority's work is of great importance in enhancing citizen confidence in state agencies in general and oversight agencies in particular."
In turn, representatives of international organizations in Iraq referred to "the proposals that were submitted and presented to the Prime Minister, who referred them to the Commission," adding that "work is underway to form a team from both parties to study them and then turn them into plans and programs of action to be ready for implementation."
Representatives of the organizations expressed their "willingness to provide moral support, training, skills, and expertise to the commission's staff," noting that "improving Iraq's position within the reports of Transparency International's indicators of corruption perceptions is by focusing on extradition, witness protection, and preventing corruption and graft."
