Shafaq News / Today, Thursday, the House of Representatives announced its agenda for its next parliamentary session, next Saturday, which includes five paragraphs for discussion, most notably the report and discussion of the proposed law for the third amendment to the provincial elections law.

The Council's agenda in the Saturday session includes voting on the draft law of the third amendment to the Law of the Great Imam College.
The session also includes a report and discussion (second reading) of a draft law amending Order No. (15) of 2004 regarding the ownership of residential plots of land for employees of the Central Refineries Company, a report and discussion (the second reading of the draft law of the first amendment to the law of the Ministry of Electricity, and a report and discussion (second reading) of a draft law The first amendment to the Small Income-Generating Projects Support Act.
On February 23, 2023, the Iraqi Council of Representatives failed to hold its session dedicated to discussing several issues, most notably the amendment of the provincial and district council elections law, and decided to postpone its holding until next week.
The report and discussion (second reading) of the proposed law for the third amendment to the Provincial and District Council Elections Law No. 12 of 2008 received from the Legal Committee and the Committee of Regions and Governorates that are not organized in a region) was included in the agenda of the House of Representatives today, while the session was postponed under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shahe. Wan Abdullah for half an hour.
For his part, a parliamentary source attributed, in a statement to Shafaq News agency, the failure to hold the session, on February 23, 2023, to not achieving a quorum in attendance as a result of the objection to amending the provincial elections law.
He added that the independent deputies are the main reason why the parliament session did not convene after a verbal altercation took place inside the parliament cafeteria between them.
