On Tuesday, the Sovereignty Coalition accused the military threshold of driving a wedge between the components of our people with an explicit threat to societal peace, calling on the Sudanese to intervene urgently and stop attempts to stoke sedition.
The coalition said in a statement, "The Sovereignty Coalition categorically rejects the unprecedented measure taken by the administration of the military shrine in Samarra and does not enjoy the slightest degree of wisdom by changing the name of the dome of the historic Great Mosque of Samarra to (the owner of the matter) and controlling it and the religious school adjacent to the mosque, which was for hundreds of years." It is still owned by the Sunni Endowment and the People of the Sunnah and the Community to this day.
The statement added, "The rejected measure resorted to by the administration of the threshold expresses a desire to bring about demographic change and disturb the strong relationship between the components of the Iraqi people, and a failed attempt to drive a wedge between the components of our people, as it is an explicit threat to societal peace and peaceful coexistence among Iraqis."
The Sovereignty Coalition called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani to “intervene urgently to stop attempts to stoke sedition, which resorted to this illegal act without the slightest sense of responsibility, as well as to restore the Great Mosque and the religious school in Samarra to the era it was in and its approach known as moderation and moderation.”
