    Shafaq News/ International reactions continued to the Saudi-Iranian agreement to resume diplomatic relations, considering it a step towards stability in the Middle East.
    Today, Friday, Iran and Saudi Arabia announced the resumption of their diplomatic relations, at the initiative of China.



    Iraq: It will contribute to increasing harmony
    Iraq welcomed the joint tripartite statement issued by Saudi Arabia, Iran and China to resume Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations.
    Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said, "The agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran will contribute to increasing harmony between Islamic countries, and will reflect positively on the security and stability of the region."
    Emirates is a believer in positive communication
    "We welcome the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran to resume diplomatic relations between the two countries, and we appreciate the Chinese role in this regard," said the diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE.
    He added, "The UAE believes in the importance of positive communication and dialogue between the countries of the region towards consolidating the concepts of good neighborliness and starting from a common ground to build a more stable future for all."
    Washington greets with caution
    US President Joe Biden said when asked about the Saudi-Iranian agreement that he believes that "the closer the relationship between Israel and its Arab neighbors, the better for everyone."
    Earlier, White House national security spokesman John Kirby said, "Washington is aware of reports of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia."
    He added, "In general, Washington welcomes any efforts that help end the war in Yemen and reduce tension in the Middle East."
    Kirby said: "If the agreement is preserved and the war in Yemen ends and Saudi Arabia is no longer forced to continue to defend itself as a result of the attacks coming from there, we welcome that."
    He added, "We will see if the Iranians will keep their commitments within the agreement."
    Bahrain: a step to resolve differences through dialogue
    In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the agreement and expressed its hope that it would constitute a positive step towards resolving differences, ending all regional disputes through dialogue and diplomatic means, and establishing international relations on the basis of understanding, mutual respect, good neighborliness, and non-interference in the affairs of other countries. And commitment to the charters of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international laws and norms, praising in this regard the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting security, peace and stability, and the pursuit of diplomacy in settling regional and international disputes.
    Egypt is watching with interest
    In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt announced that it is following with interest the announced agreement to resume diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
    Egypt expressed its aspiration for the agreement to contribute to easing tensions in the region, to strengthen the pillars of stability and to preserve the capabilities of Arab national security, and the aspirations of the peoples of the region for prosperity, development and stability.
    Turkey congratulates
    The Foreign Ministry congratulated Iran and Saudi Arabia "for this important step taken by the two countries, in line with the paths of softness and normalization that have prevailed in the Middle East for some time."
    She expressed her confidence that the progress in relations between the two countries will contribute significantly to the security, stability and prosperity of the region.
    Qatar: strengthening security and stability
    Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani expressed his country's aspiration that this step contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region, for the benefit of all its peoples.
    Sultanate of Oman welcomes
    The Sultanate of Oman welcomed the agreement, and a statement quoted by the Omani News Agency quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying: “The Sultanate of Oman welcomes the joint tripartite statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People’s Republic of China to resume Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies and representations within a maximum period of two months.” And to activate the security cooperation agreement between them and the general agreement for cooperation in the field of economy, trade, investment, technology, science, culture, sports and youth.
    Lebanon: a positive impact
    The Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bouhabib, welcomed the Chinese-Saudi-Iranian tripartite statement.
    He added that the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran will have a positive impact on all regional relations in the next stage.
    Bouhabib pointed out that Lebanon has always paid, in its history and present, the price of regional disputes, and therefore, it is hoped that this step will contribute to strengthening the pillars of security and stability in the region, and the consolidation of positive and constructive cooperation that will inevitably benefit the countries and peoples of the region and the world.
    The Lebanese minister called for taking advantage of this opportunity in order to engage in an Arab-Iranian dialogue on the basis of respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs and the best good-neighborly relations, which are the points agreed upon by the participants in the tripartite Beijing meetings.
