Al-Handal International Group officially announced the establishment of Al-Asr Bank as the first leading investment bank to see the light in Turkey with Iraqi roots and origins.
It is expected that the new bank will become a prominent player in the international banking sector, as it provides a wide range of modern and customized banking services to its customers in Turkey, and it will serve as the commercial and investment bridge between Turkey and Iraq or other countries.
The new announcement comes after the issuance of the decision of the Board of Directors of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Authority BRSA, which was published on March 23, 2023. This step will enhance the global presence of Al-Handal, which is active in many other sectors such as construction, investment, real estate development, tourism and others.
Wadih Al-Handal, Chairman of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks (Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors), stated after announcing this incorporation that this step comes within the new strategy adopted by the Group, which aims to diversify products and services and make them available to all customers.
He also stated: "The idea of establishing Al-Asr Bank came to provide financial services to our customers in various sectors," and also stressed: "We believe that the establishment of this bank will have a positive impact on the economy of Turkey in particular and on the whole region in general, which reflects Clear part of our aspirations and ambitions.
