Today, Friday, a member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Salem Ibrahim Al-Anbuge, revealed a political consensus regarding more than half of the paragraphs of the new draft general amnesty law that the government sent to the political forces, while stating that the law requires “scrutiny and study.”
Al-Anbuge said in a press interview seen by Taqaddam, “The prime minister sent a model of the draft general amnesty law to the political forces, and there is agreement on more than half of its paragraphs,” stressing that “the general amnesty excludes murderers, terrorists, and those who committed crimes that have not yet been punished.” .
Al-Anbaki added; That “the general amnesty law requires scrutiny and extensive study before its approval in order to do justice to the victims of terrorism and the families of martyrs and those affected and to prevent any passage of paragraphs or articles that bring criminals back to the scene again,” noting that “there are differences regarding those covered by the amnesty, their number, and other paragraphs that require review and study so that it does not turn The law is on a reverse path that robs rights.”
The member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee promised that the death sentences against terrorists would not be implemented, “a great confusion for the political process and for Iraqi society in particular, and what this caused of social destabilization and legitimate demands for punishment from the terrorists.”
