MP Ali Nehme confirmed, on Saturday, the political forces’ rejection of changing Article 12 of the House of Representatives’ internal regulations.

Nehme told Al-Maalouma Agency, "Some political forces in the council demanded changing it to end the council presidency complex, but most of the political forces did not agree to changing it because it would lead to other amendments that might lead to more complexity in the general political scene."
He added, "Amending Article 12 may be possible if the deadlock in the Parliament presidency file remains, but there is another step that may be an alternative that was recently raised, which is the withdrawal of both candidates for the parliament presidency, Salem Al-Issawi and Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani."
He pointed out that "both Al-Issawi and Al-Mashhadani are still candidates for the presidency of the House of Representatives."
It is noteworthy that Sunni-Sunni differences stand in the way of deciding on a candidate for the presidency of the House of Representatives, despite the efforts of the rest of the forces. End 25 F
