-Rafidain Bank announced, on Wednesday, the implementation of the electronic collection system in customs, ports and taxes.
The media office of the bank said in a statement, “Based on government directives to activate POS devices, an expanded meeting was held at Al-Rafidain Bank, in the presence of representatives of some of the bank’s departments concerned with electronic payment, representatives of the Customs Authority, the Border Ports and Taxes Authority, and the Global Smart Card Company to discuss the implementation of the collection system.” electronically.”
During the meeting, according to the statement, the mechanism for publishing points of sale was discussed and the departments concerned with the ports, customs and taxes were provided with (pos) devices and linked to the system electronically to collect money through modern electronic systems, in order to move from cash transactions and the transition to electronic, and the interventions of the attendees focused on the importance of automating that process. Which leads to the elimination of manipulation, forgery and suspicions of financial corruption.
And the statement continued, "This step comes in line with the government program to generalize the experiment to include various sectors at the level of all of Iraq."
And the Rafidain Bank launched, earlier, an initiative to grant (POS) devices to all state institutions and the private sector for free, provide technical and logistical support, supportive software, and train all technical cadres in exchange for “zero” commissions until the end of the year 2023 and the responsibility of the bank.
