    Baghdad - Mawazine News,
    the Iraqi government spokesman, Basem Al-Awadi, announced today, Tuesday, that Iraq will host a conference of transport ministers of neighboring countries and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, next Saturday.

    Al-Awadi said in a statement, a copy of which was received by Mawazine News, that "based on the Iraqi government's vision of the importance of economic integration between the countries of the region, and in line with the government program that is based on economic reform and advancing strategic projects forward, the capital, Baghdad, will host on Saturday. Corresponding to May 27, 2023, a conference of transport ministers for Iraq’s neighboring countries and the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

    He added, "The conference aims to discuss the promising project represented by the strategic development road (the dry channel), which is a vital and important path for all countries in the region and the world."

    And he continued, "The conference comes within the government's path in strengthening cooperation and economic interdependence with brothers and friends, in a way that represents a foundation for peace, stability and prosperity for our peoples, and a consolidation of Baghdad's position as the House of Peace as a tent for security and partnership, and a starting point for sustainable development."
