On Wednesday, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, announced plans to bring social welfare to the labor market through soft loans, while referring to the measures taken that raised Iraq's level by 20 degrees in the poverty rate statistic.
Al-Asadi said, "We have plans in all fields, and we launched a major social research campaign at the beginning of this year, as one million and 100,000 families have been researched so far, and the process is continuing," pointing out that "the ministry started launching meals last month and launched two meals for 180,000 new included persons." with social welfare.
Al-Asadi added, "We have plans to bring social care to the labor market through soft loans granted to them," explaining that "a loan fund of 400 billion dinars has been approved for this year within the 2023 budget, as we will work to ensure that these loans are for real projects to occupy tens of thousands." for the unemployed.
He pointed out that "the ministry has developed a methodology regarding inspection to follow up on foreign workers and the application of the labor law, which stipulates that in front of every foreign worker there must be an Iraqi worker," pointing out that "through these steps, Iraq has increased by 20 degrees in terms of poverty levels, according to the latest report." to the United Nations, where Iraq was ranked 86 and has now reached 66, and we will continue our work until Iraq reaches advanced stages.
