Baghdad Investment Authority announced on Friday, for granting leave to build 50 commercial centers big and small, indicating that the value of those holidays of up to five billion dollars, while suggesting to stop work Harthiyya Mall in the center of Baghdad, after the withdrawal of the Turkish company overseeing the project.
The head of the body, Shaker Zamili, said in a statement seen by the Agency for News News (et) that "the commercial centers of the sectors that has taken an important place in the investment activity, which gives to the aesthetic of the capital Baghdad, and meet the needs of citizens in the areas of shopping and entertainment," referring to that "the body was granted leave to build 20 large commercial centers (malls), valued at nearly three billion dollars, as well as 30 other vacation center for small business (commercial building), worth about two billion dollars".
Zamili added, that "the work of those centers is moving around well and according to schedule, with the exception of Harthiya Mall, currently stalled due to the departure of the Turkish company executed him," noting that there is "an effort to persuade the company to return to work during the next few days".
The director of the Baghdad Investment Commission, that of "big shopping malls developed in the work, Mall of The Palm, located in the area of Palestine Street, east of Baghdad, where he arrived in the percentage of completion it to about 95 percent,"
pointing out that "the opening awaiting the arrival of a group of international companies that I booked it in order to proceed with their processed".
The Zamili that "a number of commercial centers, which granted a license to invest are still waiting for either the allocation of land or granting approval of designs by the Municipality of Baghdad, adding that" there are appeals of many by the Investment Authority of the Secretariat of Baghdad in order to speed in giving approvals basic designs for such projects".
He Zamili that "there is a real delay in spite of the promises made by the Secretariat that there will be a multiplier of work in order to speed up the launch of the designs, especially in the field of hotels and commercial centers .
