The Ministry of Commerce denied what was circulated on the social networking site ((Telegram)) about the ration card data, while confirming that the ration card data is fully secured.
The ministry stated in a statement, "The ration card data is fully secured and kept confidentially and tightly, and what was circulated for this data is baseless and does not have any connection with the truth," noting that "no breach of this data has previously occurred because it is protected and efficient and professional staff work on it." And trained to work to protect it from any penetration.
She added that she "does not provide any party with data except by obtaining the original approvals for that and in a manner that secures and maintains the confidentiality of that data," stressing that "it has taken all legal measures to pursue the pages that publish this data and in coordination with the security services."
The ministry called on citizens not to "deal with what is published outside its official websites by people or entities intended to confuse public opinion by offending the ministry's effort in its national project to automate the electronic ration card."
