Adviser to the Prime Minister for Transportation Affairs, Nasser al-Asadi, saw that the Hawally road would solve the transportation crisis within city centers to their outskirts, while an expert in the field of urban and regional planning indicated the country's need for real, tangible work in the road sector, transportation and project implementation.
Al-Asadi told Al-Sabah: The committee specialized in following up the Al-Hawali road file has seen the designs that were supposed to be approved, noting that some requirements have been put in place through which it can be developed.
He considered the road "very successful", as it creates a new investment and housing environment and solves the transportation crisis within the city centers to their outskirts, indicating that the road does not pass through any newly established residential complex and does not threaten any of them with removal, on the contrary, it serves those complexes.
For his part, the expert in the field of urban and regional planning, Dr. Kamel Al-Kinani, stated to "Al-Sabah" that there is no doubt about the importance of annual roads around cities, especially the main cities such as Baghdad, because of the smooth flow of movement to and from them on the one hand, in addition to that they are transit passages to other cities without Having to penetrate the city from the other side.
He added that these roads had been planned since the eighties of the last century as part of the study of the "Skoon Wilson" transport company, which remained mere plans on paper since then, as is the case with the Baghdad metro. He pointed to the country's need for real, tangible work in the road sector, transportation and project implementation, not to accumulate and delay them, stressing that the solution to the transportation crisis in Baghdad is more complex than just a road around me or the expansion of existing roads, explaining that the transportation system is an integrated whole that is supposed to address it with a holistic perspective that requires interaction All the components of this system to serve the economic and social movement in the city.
