The leader in the coordination framework, Turki Jadaan, confirmed, on Thursday, that the conscription law has been postponed for the next three years due to disagreements.

In an interview with Al-Maalouma, Jadaan said, "13 main clauses in the conscription law were behind the differences between the political forces in the House of Representatives, which prompted the government to return it to its corridors in order to make fundamental changes that respond to the views put forth by several forces."
He added, "In the midst of the Ministry of Interior's experience in contracting with more than 30,000 employees for a specific period of time, it has become a welcome option and a good alternative to conscription, because it determines the number and those who really want to."
He pointed out, "The conscription law, in light of our expectations, is postponed for the next three years, and it may not be proposed again, because adopting the specific contracting principle is perhaps the most appropriate mechanism with the current conditions."
And several political forces announced their support for the adoption of the compulsory military service law in Iraq, despite the differences in its provisions
