    Baghdad today - Erbil
Today, Tuesday (August 29, 2023), the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the Kurdistan Regional Government denied the news being circulated regarding the regional government’s rejection of a proposal submitted by the Federal Ministry of Finance to disburse a loan worth 598 billion dinars to pay the salaries of the region’s employees.
The ministry said, in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", that "several days ago, several channels and media outlets have been circulating news quoting a source in the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan region, that the Iraqi Ministry of Finance proposed sending 598 billion dinars as loans to pay the salaries of employees of the Kurdistan region, claiming The regional government refused to receive that amount.
In this regard, the ministry added, we make it clear to the public opinion and all the media, that "we are not responsible for any information or statements that are published quoting from unknown sources, just as any news or statement that is not published on the official page of the ministry is unreliable and lacks credibility."
And she continued: "We were not informed in any way by the technical team in the Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers about the existence of such a proposal to be rejected or not."
In its statement, the ministry went on to stress its "commitment to implement all articles and clauses in the Federal Budget Law, and we hope the Iraqi government will implement the law as it is."
And she added, "Whenever a decision is issued to send any amount of money by the Iraqi government to the Kurdistan region and transfer it to the bank account of our ministry, we will announce it officially, and similar to the previously applied contexts."
