    The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, confirmed that the opening of the Austrian embassy in Iraq contributes to strengthening relations, and while Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received an invitation to visit Austria, Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhammad Al-Halbousi stressed the necessity of parliamentary cooperation with Austria, Meanwhile, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg announced the reopening of his country's embassy in Baghdad.
    A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated: “The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at Baghdad Palace, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Challenberg and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein,” indicating that “The President of the Republic welcomed, at the beginning of the meeting, the opening of the Austrian embassy in Iraq.” “.
    Rashid stressed, according to the statement, that “this step aims to improve relations and contributes to enhancing constructive cooperation in areas of common interest and in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two countries and peoples,” pointing to “the general conditions in the country.”
    He pointed out that “Iraq is witnessing security stability, and the government is working to consolidate it and implement the ministerial program that focuses on construction and reconstruction and providing services to citizens, in addition to providing the appropriate atmosphere for businessmen in order to encourage investment, and support the private sector to advance infrastructure and raise the standard of living and service.”
    He pointed to “Iraq’s relations with neighboring countries and the world and its pivotal role in establishing security and stability and enhancing understanding among the countries of the region,” praising “the efforts made to restore relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
    He stated that “Iraq emphasizes establishing good relations with the international community,” pointing to “the necessity of cooperation and coordination on priority issues, especially combating terrorism, economic and trade cooperation, and joint work in order to confront the effects of climate change and protect the environment.”
    For his part, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Challenberg expressed his “happiness to visit Baghdad and meet the President of the Republic,” noting “his country’s support for the stability of Iraq and the security of its citizens.”
    He added that he "discussed with the Foreign Minister the reopening of the Austrian embassy in Iraq," noting that he was "visiting Iraq for the first time with a delegation of businessmen who were informed of the positive developments, especially in the field of enhancing security and stability."
    He pointed to “the importance of coordination in the areas of climate change,” stressing “his country’s desire to cooperate in the field of water management and to benefit from the expertise and treatments that were applied to the Danube River to confront the water crisis.”
    In this regard, the President of the Republic stressed “the importance of benefiting from international experiences in this aspect, given that Iraq is suffering from a severe water crisis and the absence of laws regulating the flow of water across borders.”
    Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani welcomed the reopening of the Austrian embassy in Baghdad, while receiving an invitation to visit Austria.
    The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement: “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, and his accompanying delegation, which included a number of heads and representatives of Austrian companies and businessmen,” noting that “during the meeting, a review took place.” Iraqi-Austrian relations, and ways to improve the level of bilateral cooperation in several fields.”
    He added, “At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed the reopening of the Austrian Embassy in Baghdad, and the delegation’s visit, which witnessed the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding in the fields of security, transportation, and economic cooperation,” noting that “the meeting witnessed businessmen and company representatives reviewing the most important work files, capabilities, and experiences.” Which their companies possess and their previous experiences in several economic and technological fields.”
    The Prime Minister stressed that “the government has a vision in various sectors and strategic files, and welcomes the contribution of companies from friendly countries in developing and advancing this vision.”
    For his part, the guest minister conveyed “the greetings of the Austrian Chancellor and his invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Austria in order to discuss more opportunities for bilateral partnership,” expressing the desire “to be present in Iraq, deepen and strengthen the relationship and develop the partnership between the two countries at various levels, and his country’s readiness to cooperate with Iraq.” In the fields of health, education, communications, infrastructure construction, and information technology networks.”
    For his part, the media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by Al-Zawraa: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed, and cooperation was developed in a number of areas. Areas include security, economy, and transportation, as well as cooperation at the parliamentary level, activating friendship committees, and exchanging experiences.
    During the meeting, Al-Halbousi stressed the House of Representatives’ keenness to support the government to continue expanding its relations with friends and achieving economic partnerships in various sectors and strategic projects.
    For his part, the guest minister conveyed to His Excellency the greetings of the President of the Austrian National Council, Mr. Wolfgang Sobotka, and his desire for parliamentary cooperation. The Austrian Foreign Minister also expressed his country's readiness to strengthen its relations with Iraq and develop cooperation in all fields.
    Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein welcomed Austrian companies to work in Iraq, and while he pointed out that the return of Austrian Airlines to Iraq would restore direct flights to Europe, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg announced the reopening of his country's embassy in Baghdad.
    Hussein said, during a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart, Alexander Schallenberg: “He discussed with his Austrian counterpart a number of files, most notably the political relations between the two countries, as well as the work of Austrian companies in Iraq and the return of flights to Austrian Airlines,” pointing out that “the discussions included opening the way for The way and assistance to Austrian Airlines to return its flights to Iraq.”
    He added, "The return of Austrian aviation is very important to link Iraq to Europe," noting that "Iraq seeks to restore direct flights to Europe instead of transit through Turkey and Qatar."
    Hussein stressed that “the Iraqi constitution prohibits any party from using Iraqi lands to attack neighboring countries,” pointing out that “some of the groups present in the region go back 50 years.”
    He pointed out that “Iraq’s relations with Iran are strong and this relationship prevents the use of violence,” noting that “Iraq refuses to use its lands to attack Iran by some groups, and we also reject the threat to Iraqi sovereignty.”
    He pointed out that “Iraq is committed to the agreement concluded with the Iranian side, which included removing armed groups from the border and transferring them to camps deep in the region and far from the border,” stressing that “he will visit Iran today to discuss the implementation of this agreement from both sides.”
    Hussein pointed out that “the security agreement with Austria does not mean adding foreign forces to Iraq,” noting that “the security agreement with Austria is based on advice, training, and mutual cooperation.”
    Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg also announced the reopening of his country's embassy in Baghdad.
    Schallenberg said during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad, followed by Al-Zawraa: “His visit to Baghdad came at the invitation of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to reopen the Austrian embassy in Baghdad and to discuss a number of political, economic and security files.”
    He confirmed that he would “sign an agreement in the field of internal security in Iraq,” noting that “this agreement must take its proper role.”
