    {Politics: Al-Furat News} The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, revealed that he plans to request assistance from the United Nations to confront the challenge of severe environmental change that causes drought and desertification.
    The Prime Minister's Office published the highlights of the American New York Times report after its dialogue with Al-Sudani on Monday, during his visit to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly meeting, indicating that he is capable of solving the country's chronic problems, represented by corruption and political instability, and making Iraq A reliable partner of the United Nations.
    The newspaper pointed out that Al-Sawdani is a product of state institutions, and he understands citizens and their priorities, and that he is one of the second generation of politicians in the post-Saddam regime, and they are closest to the people and understand that the street wants change. It pointed out that Al-Sawdani “is the first Iraqi leader, since 2003, He spent his entire life inside Iraq, and never left it, even though Saddam Hussein ordered the execution of his father.”
    She says, "Al-Sudani was able to win the support of Iraqis from almost all political spectrums, and appeared clear, serious, and practical. He seeks to open more investments from Europe and the United States, and strengthen efforts with Arab countries to help build the infrastructure for natural gas production."
    The American newspaper notes that “Al-Sudani understands the energy problem and aims to make Iraq more self-sufficient in the field of energy, and that it is not possible to rely on imported gas forever, and he is trying to begin to address the frustration felt by Iraqi youth, trying to obtain government jobs.”
    Al-Sudani says, according to the newspaper, "He is realistic, and he will not claim that he will eliminate corruption completely, but it is important that there is real will and no hesitation in holding anyone involved in corruption accountable."
