The member of the House of Representatives noted, “The budget has not been approved to date despite voting on it since last June,” indicating that “the Ministries of Planning and Finance are responsible for financing projects.”
She pointed out that "the Parliamentary Finance Committee will host the Ministers of Planning and Finance tomorrow, to find out the reasons for delaying financing projects in the governorates."
In June, the House of Representatives approved the 2023 budget, amounting to 198.9 trillion dinars ($153 billion), as it includes record spending on an increasing government wage bill and development projects aimed at improving services and rebuilding infrastructure destroyed by neglect and war, according to Reuters.
