A preliminary ruling was issued against a former Director General of the National Intelligence Service, requiring severe imprisonment for a period of three years and a fine.
The Investigation Department of the Integrity Commission stated, in a statement, that “the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a pre-trial ruling against (the Director General of the National Operations Center, the former Director General of the Espionage Department in the Intelligence Service), requiring severe imprisonment for a period of three years and a financial fine. On the grounds that he received sums of money from one of the complainants for breach of his job duties.”
She added, “The details of the case relate to the accused receiving sums of money from one of the complainants. To breach the duties of the job, by issuing letters from the National Operations Center; To facilitate the transportation of scrap iron to iron and steel factories.”
She added, “The court, after reviewing the evidence obtained and evidence in the case, and the investigative papers, concluded that the accused was negligent, so it decided to convict him and sentence him to severe imprisonment for a period of three years and a financial fine. Based on the provisions of Resolution (160 of 1983).
