    Foreign Minister, Fouad Hussein, confirmed on Wednesday that the current government has drawn up an integrated approach to developing the basic sectors in the country, pointing out that Iraq represents a promising investment destination .
    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement, seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that Hussein “received, today, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Alp Arslan Bayraktar, and they discussed relations between the two countries, especially those related to the oil and energy sector and ways to enhance areas of joint cooperation.” “Stressing the need to resolve all outstanding issues between Baghdad and Ankara related to the oil and energy file .”
    The statement added, "The two sides discussed common issues between the two countries, the water file, the quantity of releases, and how to manage them. They reviewed the economic and investment opportunities provided by the Development Road Project, and its positive future repercussions on the economy of Iraq and the countries of the region. "
    Hussein assured the Turkish Minister of Energy that “the current government has drawn up an integrated approach to developing the basic sectors in the country,” stressing “its keenness to provide a safe investment environment, especially since Iraq today represents a promising investment destination,” according to the ministry’s statement .
