    Information / Baghdad..
Today, Monday, Iraqi Minister of Communications, Hiam Al-Yasiri, discussed with her Iranian counterpart, Issa Zarepour, transit projects and increasing Internet capacities.
The Ministry of Communications stated in a statement received by Al-Maalouma: “Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri received the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Issa Zarepour and his accompanying delegation in the presence of senior staff in the ministry,” indicating that “during the meeting, they discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries in joint projects.” At the forefront of which is the introduction of Internet capacities through land ports, in addition to transit projects to link eastern Iraq with its west, completing the connection between the south and the north, all the way to Europe.
She stated, "Preparations for the upcoming Arba'een visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) were discussed and the required procedures were completed to prepare for increasing the capacities used in line with the expected increase in the number of visitors arriving to Iraq."
The Iranian minister expressed "the readiness of Iranian companies for cooperation and joint work between the two countries in the communications, information technology and postal sectors, especially in the field of Internet bandwidth and the establishment of data centers." End 25
