Shafaq News/ The Transport Committee in the Iraqi Parliament revealed, today, Sunday, the importance of separating airport management from the Civil Aviation Authority and linking it to the Ministry of Transport.
The head of the committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, told Shafaq News Agency, “There was a constitutional flaw in the management of airports in Iraq by the Civil Aviation Authority. This authority is a monitoring authority and one of its duties is not to manage any airport. That is why there was a paragraph in the budget law that required separating the management of airports and linking them.” Ministry of Transport.
Al-Bajari stated, “After linking the airport management to the Ministry of Transport, a new company will be formed under the name (Airport Management Company), and this step will accelerate the process of lifting the ban on Iraqi aviation, as the management of airports by the Civil Aviation Authority was in violation of the instructions of the International Aviation Organization, and now removing This violation was one of the most prominent reasons for the air embargo on Iraq.”
