Today, Monday, the Prime Minister's Office determined the mechanism for regulating the work of generators.
The office addressed the Baghdad Governorate in a letter received by Mawazine News, saying, “Based on the Prime Minister’s directive to follow up and organize the work of generators in the Baghdad Governorate, please take the necessary measures regarding the following: 1. Issuing circulars to all administrative units on the necessity of implementing the generator subscription collection mechanism at the end of the month.
” With the obligation of generator owners to set up a meter to know the operating hours of the generators.
2. Organizing a formal lease contract for the land on which the generator operates, and that the location does not affect passers-by or residents or cause the closure of a street, sidewalk, or square, as well as monitoring the violations, damages, and distortions caused by the operation of the generator. 3

4. Providing the Petroleum Products Directorate in the Ministry of Oil with fuel storage work sites for each generator. He
stressed “the necessity of taking action in accordance with the Prime Minister’s directive and completing the aforementioned procedures within a maximum period of January 1, 2024.” ".
