    Baghdad today - Diyala
Today, Wednesday (December 6, 2023), the representative of Diyala Governorate, Salem Al-Anbaki, identified what he called the three problems in the governorate’s security file, while indicating that Diyala recorded an increase in the rate of mysterious crimes.
Al-Anbuki said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The Diyala security file faces a series of real challenges whose seriousness must be paid attention to, pointing out that the weakness of the intelligence dimension and the lack of an end to investigations into crimes, accompanied by failures in determining the identity of those carrying them out and their motives, are major problems that cast a shadow on the security situation." "It pushes citizens to distrust what is happening on the ground."
He added, "The rate of mysterious crimes is increasing in Diyala, which reveals the presence of unqualified leaders and their lack of the ability to uncover the secrets of what is happening, stressing that the lack of clear ends to the investigation encourages more crimes, and this is what is currently happening."
Al-Anbuki pointed out, "It is necessary to reconsider the Diyala security file according to a comprehensive and transparent vision, because the repetition of crimes may lead us to serious repercussions that cannot be contained, especially with the killing of many civilians in reprehensible crimes."
Last Thursday evening, a security source reported that unknown assailants carried out a double attack with two explosive devices and sniper weapons targeting a vehicle carrying civilians between Al-Wajhiya district, 25 km northeast of Baqubah, and the village of (Al-Umraniya), which led to the martyrdom and injury of more than 20 people.
In addition, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani sent a large security delegation headed by the Commander of Joint Operations and several security leaders to Diyala to investigate the Al-Omraniyah incident and take measures to prevent the recurrence of terrorist operations.
