    The Deputy for Commercial Affairs and Trade Development in the General Directorate of Mining Industry and Trade in the Iranian Kurdistan Province, Taha Samie, announced the export of goods worth $335 million from the border in the past eight months of the current year, through the crossings with the Kurdistan Region, a growth rate of 26% compared to the period. Same as last year.
     According to a report by the Iranian Fars News Agency, Taha Samie said in an interview that in the foreign trade sector, goods worth $335 million were exported from the province’s borders during 8 months of the current year, indicating that the volume of exports increased by 26% compared to the same period of the year. Last year, which amounted to $265 million.
    Samaie added that Kurdistan Governorate’s share of this amount of exports for the current year amounts to 738 thousand tons, meaning it grew by 16% in terms of weight compared to the same period last year, which amounted to 636 thousand tons. 
    Samaie acknowledged that, in general, the import of the official borders of the Bashmakh and Siranband crossings also depends on the needs of production units during the eight-month period of this year, as $236 million worth of goods entered the country, noting that compared to the same period, the amount of imported goods amounted to 36 million. Dollars, an increase of 561% in dollar value.
    Samaie stated that, with reference to the volume of goods crossing the official borders of the Kurdistan Region in the last 8 months of the current year, which amounted to 2,680 million dollars, the weight value of these goods amounts to 1,000 and 630 tons, and in total, the total commercial transactions of the governorate during the 8 months of the current year amounted to 3 billion. And $470 million.
    Samaie stated that the list of exported goods in the agricultural sector exceeds 55%, followed by industrial and mineral goods, and the main exported goods include fruits of all kinds, tomatoes, strawberries, agricultural tractors, and sponge iron products to the countries of Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, India and Russia.
    Samaie explained that imports from the border include raw gold in the form of bullion, aluminum ingots, two-piece and multi-piece air conditioners, and iron and aluminum scraps, which are imported across the country’s borders mainly from Iraq, China, and the United States, ending with the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Germany.
