Security expert Ahmed Al-Sharifi confirmed that the Iraqi government is going through a period of great embarrassment and is called upon to make decisive decisions regarding the ongoing conflict between the armed factions and the American forces.
Al-Sharifi said in a press interview seen by “Taqaddam” that “the issue of targeting American forces in Iraq causes a very great embarrassment to the Iraqi government, as it was hoped that it would be able to resolve this issue at the very least in Iraq, given that the government is the product of a coalition of state administration and factions.” All of them are represented in the state administration coalition or the coalition has influence over them.
He pointed out: “It would have been better for Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to benefit from his relationship within the coordination framework and work to calm those threats that embarrassed the Iraqi government.” However, according to events, he did not succeed in doing so, which prompted the United States to take measures based on the principle of the right to self-defense, and launched several strikes inside Iraq.”
He added, “The absence of a government role in influencing the course of events in Iraq, and its inability to confront this crisis between the factions and the United States, will greatly affect American support for the Sudanese government, and may lead to its collapse, amid its inability to stop the armed factions and the American army,” indicating that “With this deficit, there is no need for the current government, which is going through a very worrying situation.”
Al-Sharifi stated that “the government’s inability affects the security forces and their ability to deter,” stressing that “the government is called upon to take decisive decisions to deter the dangers facing the country.”
