    Baghdad today - follow-up 
    Today, Sunday (December 31, 2023), the Iranian Tasnim News Agency revealed a decrease in the rate of trade exchange between Iran and Turkey by 13 percent, noting that the volume of trade between Iran and Turkey reached 5 billion dollars in 2023.
    According to the agency’s report, translated by “Baghdad Today,” statistics show that Turkey’s trade with Iran reached $5 billion in 11 months of 2023. This number decreased by 13% compared to the same period last year.
    The value of trade between Iran and Turkey in the months from January to November 2022 amounted to 5 billion and 800 million dollars, while this year it reached 5 billion dollars.
    According to the report, Turkey's exports to Iran in the months from January to November 2023 increased by 7 percent compared to the same period last year and reached $3 billion. Turkey exported goods to Iran worth $2.8 billion in the period from January to November 2022.
    Turkey also imported goods worth $2 billion from Iran in 2023, which represents a 33% decrease compared to the same period last year. Türkiye had imported goods from Iran worth $3 billion in 2022.
    The Turkish Statistical Office also reported a 42% increase in the country's exports to Iran in November 2023. Turkey's exports to Iran reached $290 million in November last year, and this number rose to $412 million in November this year. Iran became the thirteenth destination for Türkiye's exports this month.
    But Turkey's imports from Iran in November 2023 amounted to $182 million, a 13% decrease compared to the previous year. Türkiye imported goods worth $212 million from Iran in November last year.
    Total trade between the two countries in the eleventh month of this year amounted to $594 million, a growth of 18% compared to the same period last year.
