Iraq achieves a planned surplus of $7.6 billion in 2023

Information / Baghdad..
Economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi revealed, on Tuesday, that Iraqi oil revenues in 2023 declined to $97.6 billion, compared to the previous year, but they were higher than planned.
Al-Marsoumi said in a publication seen by “The Information” that “Iraq’s oil revenues in the year 2023 amounted to 97.6 billion dollars, recording a decrease of 17.4 billion dollars, and by 18% from the actual revenues recorded in 2022, when the latter amounted to 115 billion dollars.”
He added, "The actual oil revenues for 2023 were higher than the revenues planned in the country's budget for the same year by about $7.6 billion, which indicates that revenues exceed official expectations."
Al-Marsoumi explained, "This decrease in revenues is partly due to fluctuations in global oil prices and global market challenges, noting that the Iraqi government is working hard to diversify revenue sources to strengthen the national economy and achieve financial stability." Ended / 25 hours
