The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, received an invitation from the head of the UAE Audit Bureau, Hamid Obaid Abu Shabas, to attend the World Summit of Governments scheduled to be held in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The authority stated in a statement: Judge Haider Hanoun received the invitation through the Emirati ambassador to Baghdad, Salem Issa, during the meeting that brought them together at the authority’s headquarters. The head of the authority stressed in the meeting the importance of communication, cooperation and coordination between the institutions of counterpart Arab countries, noting the memorandum of understanding concluded with the Audit Bureau. The Emirati side cooperated in the field of recovering smuggled funds and extraditing convicts.
For his part, the Emirati ambassador to Baghdad, Salem Issa, stressed the keenness of the leadership in the United Arab Emirates to have the Republic of Iraq participate in the events and conferences it organizes, pointing to the necessity of consolidating relations between the sisterly Arab countries in a way that contributes to their development and prosperity, and coordinating positions in international forums.
It is noteworthy that the head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, and the head of the Audit Bureau in the Emirates, Hamid Obaid Abu Shabas, signed a memorandum of understanding between the Commission and the Bureau in May of last year. To consolidate and enhance cooperation between the two parties, enhance expertise, increase capacity and institutional building for them, develop and improve systems and policies for preventing and combating corruption, in addition to enhancing scientific cooperation through the exchange of technical assistance between the two parties in accordance with their field of competence and within the limits of the national law and legislation in force for each party.[/size]
