Doubts behind "slumber" Reconstruction, housing, and delivery of road and bridge projects to foreign companies

    Alsumaria News - Politics

Many politicians and observers wondered about the secret behind contracting with foreign companies to implement projects to relieve traffic congestion, while the “giant companies” of the Ministry of Construction and Housing sit idle and only deplete salaries.
Representative Alia Nassif spoke about the great irony, while the giant government companies affiliated with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, such as Al-Faw, Ashur, Hammurabi, and Al-Farouq, and the thousands of employees who work in these companies, sit in exchange for granting these contracts to foreign companies.

In a tweet received by Al-Sumaria News, Nassif described this matter as “shameful for the Ministry of Construction and Housing” to be unable to construct a bridge, while in the 1990s her companies implemented all of Iraq’s bridges, including the two-story bridge and the highway between Yusufiyah and Doura.

It was considered that behind this, figures in the Ministry of Construction and Housing took commissions in exchange for granting these projects to foreign companies in exchange for putting their companies out of work, without offering anything. In conclusion, the foreign companies profited from these projects, in addition to the corrupt people receiving commissions from this process.

Nassif stressed that “we will not forget the issue of the Tahoe cars and the 14 billion dinars,” linking this incident and approaching it with the story of granting projects to other companies, not government companies.
