Independent politician Izzat Al-Shabandar confirmed today, Monday, that the file of corruption and the fight against it represents a thorny issue and a dangerous legacy that has plagued the government of Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
Al-Shabandar said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, “The issue of corruption and fighting it is a thorny issue and a dangerous legacy that has plagued the Sudanese government, which is keen and seeking to eliminate it, or to reduce the chances of theft at a minimum, through a worthy administrative system and strict monitoring.”
He explained, “The competent agencies and bodies avoid confronting the big corrupt people and colliding with them, because that means colliding with big heads who have a significant and direct impact on the stability of the entire political process.”
He pointed out that "the quota system is the basis of corruption that is undermining the country's stability," noting that "the greatest sin is our approval of this system at a time when the American civil ruler was imposing whatever he wanted and serving his country's policy, with Israeli eyes taking precedence even over American interests."
