Oil announces the size of the production capacities of the refineries and their future goals

[rtl]Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Oil announced the size of the refineries’ production capacities, and while confirming that it aims to increase production, improve quality, and adhere to environmental standards, it revealed the existence of promising projects to meet the local need for derivatives and gradually move to export.[/rtl]
[rtl]Ministry spokesman Assem Jihad said, in an interview followed by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the production of the southern refineries has currently reached 280 thousand barrels per day, and the Karbala refinery alone is 140 thousand barrels, while the Al-Samoud refineries in Baiji are approximately 270-280 barrels of production with the addition of the new refinery.” One thousand barrels per day. As for the fourth refinery, it is the Doura refinery in the center and produces approximately 110-120 thousand barrels of refining capacity. We have several small refineries spread across the central, northern and southern governorates.”[/rtl]
[rtl]Jihad stated, “The Ministry is working to develop refineries, and this is what happened with the rehabilitation of Al-Samoud refineries in Baiji, which were subjected to aggression by terrorist gangs ISIS after 2014, which caused their destruction. The national effort was able to reconstruct Salah al-Din Refinery 1 and Salah al-Din Refinery 2.” .[/rtl]
[rtl]He noted that “each of these refineries has a capacity of 70,000 barrels, and the North Refinery, which produces a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day, was recently reconstructed, in addition to the Doura Refinery, which is one of the refineries established in the early fifties and is supported by new units to improve gasoline and increase and improve oil derivatives.” ".[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The Ministry aims to increase production, improve quality, and adhere to environmental standards while increasing production of refining energy. It seeks to meet the local need and then gradually move to exporting derivatives," pointing out that "there are promising projects in this context, including the Al-Faw Refinery Project and other projects." Projects that will be announced in due course...[/rtl]
