Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: First Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Alia Nassif, confirmed that the failure of the Director General of Roads and Bridges to attend the Parliamentary Integrity Committee on the scheduled date gives an indication of his involvement in financial and legal violations.
She explained in a statement, “The Director General of Roads and Bridges was supposed to come last Sunday to the Integrity Committee to ask him dozens of questions, but he declined to attend, and this evasion of coming to Parliament can be interpreted as an indication of his corruption.”
She stated, “There are many violations and violations committed by the Department of Roads and Bridges, the most prominent of which are contracts with unknown companies that do not have similar businesses, such as the Lebanese Ashur Company, which is not recognized in Lebanon. There are suspicions of corruption in many road and bridge projects, including the Shomali Road.” Al-Qasim) worth 87 billion dinars, the second corridor of the Hit Haditha road worth 24 billion dinars, the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Baghdad-Kirkuk road worth 57 billion dinars, and the road leading to Bismaya worth 95 billion dinars.
Nassif confirmed that “the corruption system has begun to use some mercenaries affiliated with the media and hire weak-minded bloggers for the purpose of polishing their images and overthrowing the regulatory authority, but in the end they are only gaining more time to delay their trial, and sooner or later just retribution will be meted out against them.”
