    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Member of the Azm Alliance, Raad Al-Dahli, confirmed today, Wednesday (March 20, 2024), that amending the bylaws of the House of Representatives is a “red line.”
Al-Dahlaki said in a televised statement, followed by “Baghdad Al-Youm,” that “amending the bylaws of the House of Representatives is a “red line” and will not pass as long as the Al-Azm Alliance exists.”
The amendment proposed by the Taqadum Party, which Al-Halbousi seeks to pass, stipulates: “If one of the candidates for the vacant position does not obtain an absolute majority for any reason, the nomination period will be opened again.”
It was proposed after the crisis in the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the failure of Sunni party candidates to obtain a majority, which forced them to submit it to the Federal Court to decide on the issue.
