Today, Saturday, MP Nissan Al-Zayer called on the government to reconsider the decision to raise the price of gasoline, while noting that the decision carries serious economic consequences.

Al-Zayer told Al-Ma’louma, “The government’s decision to raise fuel prices will inevitably lead to an increase in the prices of materials and goods, which will cause great harm to the poor classes as well as the segment of employees.”
She added, "The decision is sudden and ill-considered and did not take into account Iraq's specificity as an oil-producing country that does not suffer from a fuel scarcity."
She pointed out that "the government has confirmed more than once that it will be satisfied with the local product and no longer needs to import gasoline."
Al-Zayer called on the government to “reconsider the decision due to its serious economic consequences for vulnerable and oppressed groups.”
The Council of Ministers issued a decision to increase the price of a liter of improved gasoline to (850) dinars per liter, and premium gasoline to (1,250 dinars) per liter, as of next May 1. Ended/25 Q.
