Neither Israel, Iran, Iraq, nor Syria have announced any official statements regarding reports of air strikes targeting the three neighboring countries. Initial estimates indicate the possibility of a “retaliatory” Israeli strike in response to the attacks on the dawn of April 14, and so far it can at least be confirmed that the sound of voices was heard. Severe explosions in the city of Isfahan, central Iran.
An American official said in a press statement that “his country is aware of the implementation of an Israeli strike on Iran,” without disclosing additional details, while Reuters quoted an Iranian source as saying, “Tehran has activated the air protection system over the city of Isfahan and a number of cities in the country.”
Media outlets reported from Iranian sources that orders were issued to partially halt the flights of civilian aircraft over some areas of the country.
The Israeli media began special coverage, but has not yet talked about the Hebrew state’s responsibility for any attacks, and the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority contented itself with reporting reports about an “Israeli attack against Iran.”
In Iraq, sources said that an unknown aircraft was seen flying heavily over Baghdad, but none of the official Iraqi sources confirmed the presence of any strike, whether in Baghdad or Babylon, as was reported.
According to preliminary information, Syria may have suffered a share of the supposed attacks, as preliminary information indicates sounds of explosions in the southern governorates such as Daraa and Suwayda.
to update:
Later, Iranian official sources said that the authorities had already responded to flying objects, suspected to be small drones.
