    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani announced that they discussed with American officials the necessity of reviewing the measures they took, which affected a number of Iraqi banks.

    Al-Sudani added that they drew their foreign policy on the basis of balance, moving away from the policy of axes, and adopting productive diplomacy in building common interests with neighboring countries, the region, and the international community, and that they want to make Iraq a point of convergence and not a place for settling scores.
    He stressed that Iraq has regained its health, and we are moving towards development, reform, and rebuilding infrastructure, in addition to the economic and social renaissance that the country is witnessing. The Iraqis were able to defeat the most powerful terrorist organization, and this victory united the spectrum of the Iraqi people. Within a week, we held a series of important meetings, and we met with President Biden and exchanged exchanges. We talked about activating the strategic framework agreement towards building a strong bilateral relationship, and we found a positive atmosphere of understandings, which lays the foundation for the next stage.
    Al-Sudani explained that they agreed on the importance of continuing the dialogue between Iraq and the United States through the Supreme Military Committee, and they met with representatives of American companies operating in Iraq, and other companies that have a desire to enter the Iraqi market. They also met with officials in the US Treasury and we discussed the necessity of reviewing the measures it had taken, which included A number of Iraqi banks and it was agreed to form a joint committee to address the problem of banks that were prohibited from dealing in dollars.
    He pointed out that the Treasury praised the government’s measures to reform the banking system and enabled Iraq to achieve a high rate in the field of financial transfers, in accordance with global compliance standards, and Iraq’s efforts to combat money laundering, and that they are determined to reform the economy and attract solid companies to work in Iraq, and there is a negative image being painted about The situation in Iraq, while the reality is the opposite of what is rumored, and there is serious work in all sectors.
