Al-Sumaria News - Local

, today, Sunday, the Supreme Authority for Hajj and Umrah called on the Central Bank of Iraq to direct banks, especially the Iraqi Trade Bank, Al-Rafidain Bank, and Al-Rasheed Bank, to open their doors to pilgrims to exchange the dollar currency, in order to prevent the momentum witnessed by some banks.

The authority stated in a statement received by Al-Sumaria News, “There are many numbers of citizens who are required to go to Hajj and need to buy the dollar currency at the official price, to use it in the Holy Land, but Iraqi banks refuse to receive them.”

The Authority called on “the Central Bank to circulate a directive to all banks involved in selling the dollar currency, to receive the guests of God, since the exchange companies did not accommodate pilgrims wishing to buy the dollar at the official price.”
