    Information / Baghdad
Today, Sunday, Chairman of the Parliamentary Security Committee, Karim Aliwi Al-Mohammadawi, called on the government to accelerate action to release the Iraqi pilgrims.

Al-Muhammadawi said in a statement, “Saudi Arabia’s practices against Iraqi pilgrims violate all political norms and protocols between countries, as it treats pilgrims with an abhorrent political attitude without justification.”
He added, "Performing Hajj rituals has turned into arrests, as if the pilgrim was crossing the border illegally, and this is a dangerous precedent."
He pointed out that "it is the government's duty to expedite the release of Hajj Al-Sharifi, Al-Musafer and other pilgrims."
He promised, “Saudi Arabia’s actions will cause tension in relations between the two countries, even though we had hoped that there would be a real rapprochement between them.” End 25
