    Economy News _ Baghdad
The Baghdad Provincial Council announced that one of its most important priorities is the file of generators and the provision of electrical energy, with the imminent issuance of new instructions for coordination with the electricity directorates in the capital.
The Secretary-General of the Council, Sondos Nassif Jassim, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah” followed by “Al-Iqtisad News” that “many committees were formed for the purpose of following up on this file and presenting an integrated study for the same purpose,” explaining that “the Council’s sessions witnessed repeated mention of the necessity of coordination between the Council and The governorate and the Baghdad Electricity Directorates, and the coming days will witness the issuance of strict new instructions in this file.
While the head of the Citizens Affairs Department, Qasim Al-Obaidi, stated that “the department is constantly working to receive citizens’ complaints and refer them to the competent authorities, in addition to the hotline that operates on the same mechanism and with the number 5635, which is a free line for submitting complaints regarding generator owners during official working hours,” indicating that “With regard to the pricing, it ranges between 8 and 10 thousand dinars, calculated according to the readings of the meters placed in most generators, and is followed up by the governorate and district committees and the mayor, provided that this pricing is calculated after the 25th of each month, according to the readings indicated in the meters.” .
In turn, the head of the Energy Committee in the Baghdad Governorate Council, Safaa Al-Hijazi, said, “The committee, in cooperation with the Baghdad Governorate, has set the minimum ampere price for the city of Baghdad, which ranges between 13-14 thousand dinars per month,” explaining that “the council is seeking to approach the Council of Ministers regarding supporting generators.” By providing them with kerosene at a price of 200 dinars, or a free share for the next two months, and if this is done by voting on it in the provincial council sessions, the ampere price will be fixed and not exceed 14 thousand dinars.”
Al-Hejazi stated, “The Provincial Council addressed the concerned authorities regarding tax accounting for generator owners and seeking to remove injustice from them as soon as possible.”
