Prime Minister: We will not deviate from the mission of completing sovereignty

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani expressed his pride in the martyrs and fighters who lit the flame of the 1920 Revolution 104 years ago, indicating that the tribes still represent a gateway to security and cohesion, while pointing out that there is no choice but to fortify the state and its institutions.
In a speech during his patronage of the official ceremony held in the capital, Baghdad, on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the 1920 Revolution, yesterday, Monday, the Prime Minister said: "History making has not happened anywhere in this world as it happened here between the two rivers," noting that "through the past hundred years of transformations and interactions, the roots of awareness are linked to the 1920 Revolution, and to its idea from which the meanings of modern nationalism emerged, and to its symbols who founded the concepts of opposing the forces of colonialism and hegemony at that time."
He explained that "by celebrating the 104th anniversary of this national popular revolution, we have renewed our commitment to the moment of pride in which it was born, for the tribes and personalities to join it, responding to the fatwa of the supreme authority at the time, and it was the spark that paved the way for the revolution."
He added that "the current generation stood in 2014, under the blessed fatwa of His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani (may his shadow endure), in confronting the defeated (ISIS)."
He pointed out that "the modern Iraqi state, in its institutional form, was born after the revolution of 1920 and its blessed sacrifices," adding, "Today, we are united by a permanent constitution, a shining name for our country among nations, and a state that takes pride in the blood of martyrs and fighters."
He stressed that "today's Iraq, all its societal spectrums contributed to its construction and continuity," noting that "the decisive role of our Iraqi tribes emerged in the revolution of 1920 as a social component that contributed to great sacrifices."
He continued, "The tribes still represent a gateway to security and popular cohesion, and a pillar of stability and confronting dangers," indicating that "the beacons lit by the 1920 Revolution pass through the support of the state and its armed forces, and the spread of law, equality and justice throughout Iraq."
Al-Sudani pointed out that "the support of the people with their social and cultural elites for the 1920 revolutionaries was through which they sought a state that preserves dignity and unity," stressing, "We have no choice but to fortify the state and its institutions, and enhance their effectiveness with the constitution and the law."
He added, "Our celebration of the anniversary of the 1920 Revolution is embodied in these tasks that the government has committed to working to complete sovereignty, and end the mission of the international coalition, and any form of foreign presence on Iraqi soil." He
concluded by saying, "We will not deviate from the task of completing sovereignty as a goal of our government despite the challenges, supported by legislative and constitutional institutions."
On the other hand, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani appreciated, yesterday, Monday, the efforts of the workers in the operations room for returning pilgrims. The
Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement that "based on the directives issued by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, to form the operations room to expedite the return of pilgrims to the House of God to the country, after the end of the Hajj season, the reverse delegation process for pilgrims was completed (yesterday, Monday) with the arrival of the last flight returning to the homeland."Yesterday, Monday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Iraq Development Fund.
