    Adnan Abdel Moneim al - Janabi , an economic and political Iraqis chosen by a number of deputies of the Iraqi Parliament in Baghdad , interim president of the Council of Representatives, on Thursday, after the vote on the isolation of the Iraqi parliament speaker Salim al - Jubouri , the same day. 

    Janabi graduated in economics from the University of London and Petroleum Technology from Loughborough University. He worked in the oil industry in Iraq in the seventies and eighties. In 1996 he was elected to the Iraqi National Assembly as an independent. 

    After the overthrow of Saddam Hussein's government and al-Janabi, he became state minister in the interim Iraqi government. He was a member of the Ministerial Council for Oil and Gas, and in charge of parliamentary affairs. 



    As was the campaign director of the Iraqi list in the legislative elections in January 2005. 

    He resigned from the ministry in January 2005 in protest against his detention by US troops at a checkpoint on the road. 

    Elected to the National Assembly in January 2005 and became vice chairman of the Committee set up by the Iraqi interim government to draft a permanent constitution and Chairman of the Finance Committee in the National Assembly. Adnan al-Janabi was re-elected to the House of Representatives in the elections of March 7, 2010. He was among the leading candidates for the Iraqi List to the province of Baghdad. 



    As re-elected in the 2014 elections of the province of Babylon on the national list. 
    Janabi and served the following positions: 



    • 2014- Member of Parliament for Babylon. 

    • 2010 -2014 Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Oil and Energy Committee. 

    • 2006- Research Center and head of the Iraqi Studies (creator). 

    • 2005-2006 Member of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Finance Committee, vice chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee. 

    • 2004-2005 Minister of State, a member of the Ministerial Council for Oil and Gas. 

    • 1996-2003 independent member of the National Council (parliament). 

    • 1997-2003 external lecturer at the National Institute for Management Development. 

    • 1990-1995 independent consultant in Vienna and Baghdad. 

    • 1988-1990 resident adviser in Vienna, the Centre for Global Energy Studies in London. 

    • 1982-2003 director and partner in several companies in the private sector. 

    • 1981-1982, Director General of the Foreign Relations and Investment, the Ministry of Oil. 

    • 1976-1981 Chairman of the Economic and Financial Department, OPEC, Vienna. 

    • 1975-1976 Advisor, Ministry of Oil. 

    • 1974-1976 lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering University of Baghdad. 

    • 1972-1974 crude oil marketing manager, the Iraqi National Oil Company. 

    • 1970-1972 Head of transporting crude oil, the Iraqi National Oil Company. 

    • 1969-1970 study leave in the United Kingdom. 

    • 1967-1969 Iraqi National Oil Company, an economic researcher. 

    • 1965-1967 Iraqi Central Bank, Research Department, in charge of relations with the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. 

    • 1964-1965 Iraqi News Agency, Economic Bulletin and Bulletin Editor oil.
