The Ministry of planning, said Wednesday that the higher Committee for ration card reform strategy on poverty alleviation to ration system conversion to the system of social protection, asserting that the poverty rate in Iraq has dropped to below 20% to 70% early this century.
He said Undersecretary of planning and Chairman of the Central Bureau of statistics in a statement received by Mehdi Al-allaq "alsumaria news", that "the Supreme Committee for the reform of the ration card have a strategy on poverty alleviation to ration system conversion to the system of social protection", stressing that "the poverty rate in Iraq has decreased dramatically, reaching the level below 20% to 70% early this century.
The Committee is studying the final report on the substitution system currently in Iraq approved caterers to smart card system in the distribution of ration items.
The relationship that "electronic system allows great flexibility in choosing national vocabulary that wishes to purchase and shopping at places including under the supervision of the Government," Noting that "needed to make scientific and practical ground of this system."
"If the approval system will be launched experimentally in Iraqi governorates by 2015, and the poll results before dissemination to all governorates of Iraq."
The planning Ministry said, (11 may 2013) the low percentage of the poor in Iraq, and the high level of the poverty line to 80 thousand dinars after only 77 alpha, in addition to the decline in the proportion of people who suffer from food shortages from 7% to 4%.
