    Iraq condemns attack in Jordan and stresses solidarity against terrorism


    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned the terrorist attack on the gendarmerie and public security forces in the city of Fuhais in Jordan.
    "The ministry confirms that the Iraqi government and people stand with Jordan and support Iraq in confronting terrorist groups," State Department spokesman Ahmad Mahjoub said in a statement.As well as renewed call for all countries of the world to the need for solidarity and cooperation to face the threat and terrorism and drying up its sources and counter extremist thought.
    The ministry expressed its sincere condolences and condolences to the families of the dead and the government and people of Jordan, wishing "the speedy recovery of the wounded of this cowardly terrorist act and the victory of the Jordanian forces in the process of cleansing and eradicating terrorist groups."
    Jordanian sources said that a security raid on a site in the city of Salt west of the capital Amman on Saturday, resulted in the collapse of a three-storey house blew up by terrorists, killing three soldiers, after the bombing of a patrol of the Jordanian gendarmerie killed a security man on Friday.
    A video showed a three-story building collapsing during the raid, while eyewitnesses reported a confrontation between the security forces and gunmen holed up in the house.
    Jordanian Information Minister Jumana Ghneimat said terrorists had blown up a house they were holed up after refusing to surrender to authorities.
    She added that security managed to arrest three terrorists during the raid in the region.
    The Jordanian Interior Ministry announced that an improvised explosive device was behind the explosion of a gendarmerie bus in Fuheis, which killed a sergeant and wounded six members of the patrol in an incident described by Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz as a terrorist act.
