    BAGHDAD / The deputy of the construction coalition Mansour al-Baiji, on Tuesday, the government to develop an urgent study for the construction of dams to store rain water and floods to face the drought season next summer.
    "We call upon the prime minister and the ministries of planning and finance to put forward an urgent study to build dams and store rain water and floods to face the summer," Bayji said in a statement received by Iraq News.
    "The study of building dams should be urgent and include all areas that are continuously exposed to the flood in order to benefit from this water," the statement said, noting that "leaving the flood waters goes to the sea a significant loss of natural resources."
    He pointed out that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives is also required to allocate funds in the budget next year to build dams in Iraq to avoid disasters and benefit from water in agriculture and address the scarcity of water."
