Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, on Tuesday, the completion of amending its law regarding the nominal salary of its employees, confirming that it will soon be sent to the State Council.
The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry, Hussein Al-Awadi, confirmed, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “A draft amendment of the Service and Retirement Law for the Internal Security Forces No. 18 of 2011 is about to be sent to the The State Council, indicating that the most important thing in the draft amendment is: amending the nominal salary for officers and employees of the ministry by adding risk allowances and subsistence allowance allowances to it, adjusting the ranks of the commissioners to the excellent class after it was for the first class, and adjusting the age by referring to retirement according to a table of ranks similar to the Ministry of Defense.
Al-Awadi also referred to the amendment of the period of loss and detention of the policeman from two to four years to ensure the continuation of the payment of salaries, and the amendment of martyrdom cases so that the death of a policeman as a result of service becomes a martyrdom, after this has been proven through an investigative council formed in this regard to guarantee rights.
And he indicated that the draft amendment also included granting a financial grant to the policeman upon marriage after it was an advance, and granting the martyr two higher ranks, explaining that according to the draft, it is permissible to refer a policeman to retirement who has 15 years of actual service, regardless of age.
