The representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Suhaila Al-Sultani, confirmed that many amendments await the election law to be decided in Parliament, pointing out that most political parties stand with the one district and the abolition of the multiple district system.
Al-Sultani said in a press statement, "The amendment of the election law is presented to the parliament, and it was read for the first time, and it is still waiting for the second reading, as there are many amendments that will be made to it after agreement between the political blocs."
She added, "Going towards the implementation of the single-constituency system in the elections is an option offered by most political blocs, in order to eliminate regionalism and not limit votes to certain regions and allow voters to choose the candidate in various regions within the province."
And she indicated that "the multiple constituencies system caused the deputies to be restricted and restricted to certain areas, while going to the multiple constituencies allows the representative to solve the problems of the people in various regions despite the legislative and oversight role that he exercises."
