It kept the Federal Reserve (the US central bank) interest rates steady, at its first meeting since President Donald Trump's office.

The Board expressed optimism that the next phase will pass the United States economy, as stated in a statement, Wednesday February 1, that the job gains are still strong, despite the fact that inflation has increased, and the economic confidence rose.

The Council kept its benchmark interest rate between 0.50% and 0.75% unchanged. Noting that "indicators of consumer confidence and companies have improved in the recent period."

The Council is facing the problem of unemployment, which hovers near the extremely low levels. With a current unemployment rate of 4.7%.

The central bank may raise interest rates during the December / December, only the second time in 10 years and expected to rise three times in 2017. The Council is still waiting for more clarity on Trump's economic policies at home and abroad.
