On Sunday, the Integrity Commission uncovered the seizure of 14 containers loaded with medicines that were brought to the port of Umm Qasr without official approval from the Ministry of Health.
The agency said in a statement received by Mawazine News that "the staff of the Integrity Commission after seized 14 containers loaded with medicines that were entered to the port of Umm Qasr South medicines imported to the southern port of Umm Qasr under false customs import transactions and without fundamental approvals."
The statement added that "the medicines come from Indian and Egyptian plants and were placed in one of the storage yards belonging to the operating company operating in the port." He pointed out that "the Directorate of Investigation Commission in the province of Basra has disclosed the details of the control operation carried out in cooperation with the Office of the Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance Under a judicial seizure warrant. "
He pointed out that "the process also led to the seizure of priorities of false customs transactions under which the containers of medicines to the port without the consent of the Ministry of Health or import license for medicines."
He pointed out that "all seized materials and papers were seized and included in the minutes of the investigation and investigation papers, and were presented to the investigating judge in order to take the appropriate decision."
